      💻  Which browsers does Topia currently support?

      • We fully support Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Brave as well as most internet browsers on desktop and laptop computers. For best the results, we recommend using one of these three browsers.

      • Depending on the default or custom settings, Topia may need to be whitelisted or be given webcam and audio access.

        Google Chrome

        • At the top right, click the menu icon ( ⋮ ) and select Settings

        • Click Security and Privacy 

        • Click Site Settings

        • Ensure camera and microphone access are allowed on Topia.io

        Microsoft Edge

        • At the top right, click the menu icon ( … ) and select Settings

        • Click Cookies and Site Permissions

        • Ensure camera and microphone access are allowed on Topia.io

        Brave

        • At the top right, click the menu icon ( ≡ ) and select Settings

        • At the bottom under Additional settings, click Privacy and security

        • Click Site and Shield Settings

        • Ensure camera and microphone access are allowed on Topia.io

      • We recently added support for Firefox and Safari and both experiences are in beta.

      • We do not support Internet Explorer.

      • If you would like to be notified when additional browser support is available or request support for a different browser, feel free to email us at support@topia.io with the name of your preferred browser.

       

      📱 Phones and Tablets

      Can I access Topia from my mobile device?

      • We are currently beta-testing a limited, audio-only mobile experience. For the best experience, we recommend using a desktop or laptop device.

      • On smartphones and tablets, we recommend using Safari on Apple devices and Chrome on Android devices.

      • World builders have the ability to disable the mobile experience for their world, encouraging users to switch to a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer. Learn more here.

      Can I access Topia from my iPad or tablet?

      • We are currently beta-testing for both iPad and tablet devices. For the best experience on Android tablets please use "desktop mode" in Chrome. Topia is accessible on iPads, with limited functionality for embedded content.

       

      📶  Low Bandwidth Mode

      In the Video Settings drawer, you'll find a toggle that lets you connect only to audio streams (no video). This is an experience that comes in handy if you're on an older device, or having challenges connecting to other users' video streams!

       

      🧏  Live Caption

      You can turn on captions for media and for people you are connected to by using the Live Caption capabilities of the Google Chrome browser.

      Live Caption is only available Chrome and in English.

      • On your computer, open Chrome

      • At the top right, click the menu icon ( ⋮ ) and select Settings

      • At the bottom of the Settings page, click Advanced and then Accessibility Captions

      • Turn on Live Caption
