🌴  Add Assets from the Topia Library

One of the easiest ways to make your Topia world unique is to add or modify assets.

👷  World Builder Mode
🌴  Using the Topia Library
🔤  Add a Custom Text Asset

👷 World Builder Mode

World-building mode allows you to build your world unobstructed. You will automatically enter builder mode when you open the library drawer and click "assets" or by pressing the letter "b" on your keyboard. In builder mode, your peer video and those that you are connected to will go away, but you will still be able to hear and chat with those around you.

🌴  Using the Topia Library

Whether you are looking for an open mic for a comedy night, a desk or water cooler for your virtual office, or holiday decor, we've got you covered! To add Topia assets to your world:

  • Click the Library icon in the bottom half of the toolbar to open the Library drawer

  • Select Assets

  • Browse the whole library, filter by category, or search through the library until you find the item you wish to place.

  • Click on the thumbnail image to add the asset to your world. Click again to place the asset in your world.

Clicking the “Table View” button will open a table with additional columns of information on each asset. Similarly to World Builder Mode, you can use the filters at the top of the page to switch between lists and filter results.

🔤  Add a Custom Text Asset

You can easily create text assets directly in Topia by dropping the special custom text asset in your world.

  • Click the Library icon in the bottom half of the toolbar to open the Library drawer

  • Select Assets

  • Search for Text Asset and click the「 T 」icon to select the text asset. Click again to place the asset in your world.

  • Hover over the asset and click the pencil icon

  • Click Edit to open the Modify Asset drawer and then click Layers & Text Editing

  • Under Layers, go to the Asset Display Text field and type your text.

  • See the magical text display!

Modify Text Asset to be in the Foreground

  • Click Edit to open the Modify Asset drawer and then click Layers & Text Editing

  • Under Layers, go to Display Layer and change the text asset to a Top Layer

  • Then under Modify Top Layer, click Forwards multiple times until the text appears in the foreground or in front of the foreground asset

  • This adds a region of transparent pixels at the base of the text asset, allowing it to appear in front of the foreground asset; you can also add an exact number of pixels in the text field
