Have a problem? This should fix it!
How to fix issues connecting to Topia-
Make sure you are using a laptop or desktop computer. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Brave web browsers are recommended.
-
Check that you have WebGL / hardware acceleration enabled by going to https://get.webgl.org
-
Make sure you didn't block your browser from connecting your camera or microphone to Topia. If you did, on Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Brave:
-
Click the lock icon 🔒 in the URL address while in the Topia world (e.g. topia.io/welcome)
-
A pop-up window will appear. Make sure Allow is chosen next to both Camera and Microphone
-
-
Make sure the privacy settings of your computer allows your browser to access your camera and microphone.
On a Mac:-
Open System Preferences ➞ Security & Privacy
-
Click Privacy and ensure the boxes are checked allowing your browser access to both your Camera and Microphone
-
If they are checked and you are still having trouble, uncheck them, recheck them and then restart the browser
-
-
Make sure you don’t have any web conferencing software open (like Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, etc).
-
Disable ad blockers, DuckDuckGo, browser extensions, or VPNs which may prevent the platform from working properly.
If All Else Fails
-
Restart your web browser
-
Close all other tabs / apps
-
Try opening a Private or Incognito window (sometimes certain browser extensions interfere)
-
Contact our team - email support@topia.io. Please include the user’s email address and we’ll investigate whether we see any issues on our end.
