Turning Off Your Camera

To turn your camera on or off, hover over your own video tile and click the videoOn video icon.

When your camera is on, the video icon will look like this. When your camera is off, the video icon will look like this.

If this is your first time in Topia, you will be prompted to grant permission to your camera from the browser. If you accidentally declined browser permission to your camera or microphone, you can grant permission by clicking the preferences settings icon in the URL bar and toggling on the camera and microphone permissions.

 

Update Camera Access

World Owners, Moderators, and Managers can disable camera access to prevent users from turning their camera on unless enabled by an admin. Admins can always freely turn their camera on or off.

  1. Enter your Topia world
  2. In the left sidebar, click World Settings settings → General User Controls
  3. Under Camera Access:
    • Toggle on to allow users to freely turn their camera on or off
    • Toggle off to prevent users from turning their camera on unless turned on by an admin

Allow Mute All

World Owners and Managers can allow people to mute/unmute everybody around them to create silence. When a user enables the mute all, it will not impact what anyone else can hear (only your own sound).

To Allow Users to Mute All:
  1. Enter your Topia world
  2. In the left sidebar, click World Settings settings → General User Controls
  3. Under Allow Mute All:
    • Toggle On to allow users to mute everyone
    • Toggle Off to prevent users from muting everyone

To Mute All:
  1. Hover over your video tile
  2. Click ellipsis Additional Options and select:
    • speakersOn Mute All to mute everyone around you (this only impacts your sound)
    • speakersOff Unmute All to hear everyone again

 


 

Hide Share Screen Button

World Owners and Managers can control screenshare access for users in their world.

To Update Screenshare Access:
  1. Enter your Topia world
  2. In the left sidebar, click World Settings settings → General User Controls
  3. Click the Screenshare dropdown menu and select an option:
    • Disable for All to hide the Share Screen button and prevent others from sharing their screen
    • Anyone in the World to make the Share Screen button accessible to all users
    • Admins Only to restrict screensharing only world Admins

Show Current Users List

The Current Users list displays all users who are currently in the world and allows users to find and teleport to the location of any other user. World Owners and Managers can control whether the Current Users list is visible to everyone or hidden and only visible to Admins.

To Show or Hide the Current Users List:
  1. Enter your Topia world
  2. In the left sidebar, click World Settings settings → General User Controls
  3. Under Capacity & Current Users:
    • Toggle On to make the Current Users list visible to everyone
    • Toggle Off to make the Current Users list visible to Admins only

World Capacity

Change the capacity of your world to limit the number of people who can be in your world at any one time.

With the Pro Plan, World Owners or Managers can adjust the maximum number of people who can be in the world simultaneously.

To Adjust World Capacity:
  1. Enter your Topia world
  2. In the left sidebar, click World Settings settings → General User Controls
  3. In the Capacity & Current Users section, change the World Capacity number field to reflect the maximum number of users you want to allow to enter your world at the same time
